Developing Women Entrepreneurs through business skill building
The project proposes a holistic approach to women’s entrepreneurship development, incorporating financial education, business management and local livelihood skills. Our approach aims to make these enterprises sustainable by locating them in the socio-economic background of the respective areas and providing skills that utilise local knowledge and resources. A cadre of Master Trainers, alongside technical experts, will provide effective business management skill training to women in Ahmedabad city and areas in its vicinity. The beneficiaries comprise of women who are already engaged in income-generating livelihood activities as well as women who have potential and show intent to take up any such activities.
Udaan
The aim of this youth employment program is to help young individuals from the underserved communities to earn their livelihood successfully and thus give them a chance to break out of the vicious circle of poverty.
The approach is a simple one, wherein participants are given job trainings in the areas of Business Process Outsourcing, Customer Relations, Information Technology and Bedside Patient Assistance. After finishing the three-month program, they are evaluated and placed in suitable jobs at various companies. To evaluate our program, we keep track of all the students for the succeeding 6 months.
Rweaves
Rweaves is a branding and marketing program under Saath Livelihoods Services. It is a cooperation between rweaves and the rural artisans of Surendranagar district of Gujarat. Herein, the weavers fix their own prices, the company supports the artisans by marketing their products. This program aims to provide traditional artisans with opportunities at fair trading, so that the maximum benefit of trade reaches the producer. The weavers have diversified from their traditional product line of saris, shawls, and dress material to products such as bed sheets, pillowcases, purses, handbags, and mobile covers.
Urmila Home Manager
The Urmila Home Managers Program (Urmila) is a training and placement program that bridges the gap between domestic helpers and provides middle- and high-income urban households. The programme works to build capacities and to develop skills of “housemaids” to create a cadre of Home Managers to provide quality, reliable and specialized services to the clients/ households.
Our Home Managers come from vulnerable communities and are identified with several personal meetings to assess the preparedness and willingness to work. They undergo training for a month from experienced professionals. They are trained through integrated modules for housekeeping, communication, childcare, geriatric care, patient care, cooking, safety, time management and personality development.
Griha Pravesh
The mission of this program is to enable affordable housing ecosystem that equips potential buyers to make the right choice and hand holds them throughout the process of buying a house. The Housing Facilitation Centre is set up to facilitate clients to make more informed decisions about the purchase of their house, it facilitates provision of housing finance and margin money assistance to the borrowers. Griha Pravesh has diversified into various activities keeping in lines with our vision, mission and move towards sustainability. As per the current needs, we started offering different services to developers like conducting need-based surveys, door to door marketing, launch and pre-launch support, road shows, property shows etc.
R & R Support Activities for Surat Metro Rail Project Ahmedabad Phase 1
Saath Livelihood Services has since September 2015, been a partner of Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRCL). SLS is involved in implementation of the GMRCL Metro Rail Project’s Resettlement Action Plan (RAP).
The tasks of SLS services are:
- Awareness Generation.
- Identification of Project Affected Persons and issue of ID cards for them.
- Creation of a data base and profiles of the PAPs.
- Assist the relocation and resettlement of the PAPs.
- Provide guidance for grievance redressal and livelihood restoration.
